Luminary / Lantern Workshop

Get creative in our working pottery studio! Join us to make your own handmade Luminary / Lantern, perfect for adding a warm glow to your home or gifting to someone special.

What’s Included:

• You’ll start with a previously thrown form, that has been allowed to dry to the perfect texture for sculpting.

• You’ll be guided through the process of designing and making your Luminary / Lantern, with tips, tools and techniques to help you create your own bespoke piece.

• Carve and decorate your Luminary / Lantern with cut-outs, textures, and patterns using sculpting tools and stamps.

• Choose from our range of glazes to finish your Luminary / Lantern. We’ll glaze and fire it for you after the workshop, ready for collection once it’s been through the kiln.

Whether you’re a complete beginner or have some experience, we’ll guide you every step of the way.

Workshop Details

• Location: TH Pottery studio, Unit 4, Orchard Barns, Stapleton, Dorrington, SY5 7EJ (just 3 minutes off the A49!)

• Duration: 2 hours

• Price: £60 per person

• Collection: 2–3 weeks 

Additional Information

• Workshop Skill Level: Beginner - intermediate

• We recommend wearing warm comfortable clothing or bringing extra layers.

• Tea, coffee, and soft drinks are provided.

• We provide everything you need to make your creations but we encourage you to bring any cookie cutters or items you think will make good designs and impressions in the clay, from foliage to fabrics, anything could work.
  

Please note: As your Workshop will be held in a working pottery studio we can’t allow children under 14 to take part in our workshops. Anyone under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Feel free to contact us if you have any questions.
